The NBA Finals seem like they just wrapped up as the absolutely loaded Golden State Warriors took down the reigning champion Cleveland Cavaliers without hardly breaking a sweat, but now we are only a few months away from the start of the regular season again. That also means NBA 2K18 is around the corner, and we have now learned who is the highest rated player in the game.
Coming off the NBA Finals victory, you might have thought that someone such as Kevin Durant or Steph Curry might usurp LeBron James’ throne as the highest rated player, but that is not the case this year.
As revealed via a picture in a tweet from former teammate Dwyane Wade, LeBron will be a 97 overall in NBA 2K17, while Wade himself will be an 84.
While LeBron didn’t get another ring last year, his overall rating has actually gone up a hair from last season, where he started off at a 96 overall. Coming just behind him in NBA 2K18, Kevin Durant comes in with a 96 overall, Kawhi Leonard with a 95 overall, and Steph Curry with a 94 overall.
These ratings are always subject to change as the season goes on, but there is little doubt LeBron will deliver. Whether the rest of his team will step up, which likely will be without point guard Kyrie Irving, we won’t know until the season kicks off.
NBA 2K18 will release on September 15 for those that purchase the Early Tip-Off Edition, with the official release coming on September 19.
